HKSAR passport holders will continue to enjoy visa-free access to Myanmar following the country’s extension of a tourist visa pilot scheme for one year until 30 September 2020, the Immigration Department announced on 6 September 2019.

Under the scheme, HKSAR passport holders can visit Myanmar without a visa for up to 30 days.

Noting Myanmar is along the Belt & Road, the department said the extension of Myanmar’s Tourist Visa Exemption Pilot Scheme will bring greater travel convenience, and strengthen the tourism, cultural and economic ties between the two places.
